Senator Charles W. Wiger (Senate District 55)

Senator Wiger was elected in 1996 and is currently serving his 4th term. Sen. Wiger is a leader in Education, Economic Development, Environment and Health Care. He is Deputy Chair, Senate Education Policy and Budget Division and serves on the Finance – E-12 Education Budget Division, Finance – Higher Education and Budget & Policy Division Higher Education committees. 

 Senator D. Scott Dibble

Senator D. Scott Dibble is currently serving his 2nd term representing Senate District 60, located in Hennepin County. He sits on the Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications, Environment and Natural Resources, Finance – Economic Development Budget Division, Finance – Transportation Budget and Policy Division, Taxes, and transportation Committees.  Sen. Dibble also chairs the Transit Subcommittee of the Transportation Committee.  He attended the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas.

 Rep. Leon Lillie (Maplewood  and North Saint Paul)

Rep. Leon Lillie is serving his second term from District 55A, which includes North St. Paul and parts of Maplewood. Before his election to the Minnesota House, Rep. Lillie was a North St. Paul City Council Member. He is currently the vice-chair of the Commerce and Labor committee. 

 Rep. Nora Slawik (Maplewood  and Oakdale)

Rep. Slawik is currently serving her 5th term representing House District 55B, including Maplewood and Oakdale. The Chair of the Early Childhood Finance Division Committee, she previously was president of the Woodbury-Cottage Grove League of Women Voters.

 Maplewood City Council Member Will Rossbach

Council Member Will Rossbach has served as the President of the Ramsey County League of Local Government and as a member of the Rush Line Corridor Task Force member. He has served on the Maplewood City Council for four years, and was re-elected in November 2007.

 

 

 

 

 Maplewood City Council Member John Nephew

Council Member John Nephew was elected to the Maplewood City Council for his first time in November 2007. He has owned and managed his own publishing company for 18 years. As a council member, his three main areas of focus have been on: fiscal responsibility, good government, and pride in Maplewood.

 Duluth Council Member Jeff Anderson 

Council Member Jeff Anderson was elected to an at-large seat on the Duluth City Council in 2007. He was born and raised in Ely and attended Bemidji State University before moving to Duluth to attend UMD. A former radio DJ and a veteran of the Minnesota Army National Guard, he is also a member of the Duluth Housing Commission and the 8th Congressional District DFL Board of Directors.

 Minneapolis City Councilman,  Gary Schiff

Gary has represented the Ninth Ward on the Minneapolis City Council since 2001. Gary has authored the city’s Sustainability Plan, started the Wireless Minneapolis system, made Minneapolis bars and restaurants smoke free, and fought to create new gang prevention programs.  Gary’s community work includes serving as co-chair of the capital campaign for Little Earth of United Tribes and raised money for Alliance Housing, a housing provider for poor and homeless people. Additionally, Council Member Schiff serves on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Housing Finance Board, which finances affordable housing and home ownership programs in the Twin Cities.

 AFSCME Council 5

AFSCME is the nation’s largest public service labor union and a leader in the fight for social and economic change.  In addition, Minnesota Council 5 is one of the largest public service unions in Minnesota.  All across the country, we’re fighting for dignity and respect for the people who do the toughest jobs in America. AFSCME Council 5 is Maplewood’s largest collective bargaining unit representing clerical, technical and maintenance workers.

 St. Paul Regional Labor Federation

The Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO unites nearly 50,000 union members in the East Metro area of the Twin Cities. The mission of the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation is to improve the lives of working families by acting locally to organize workers, build political power and advance worker-friendly legislation.

The Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation is a key part of the nation’s largest and strongest labor federation – the AFL-CIO, which unites 10.5 million working women and men of every race and ethnicity and from every walk of life. 

Teamsters Joint Council 32 DRIVE

Winning at the negotiating table is only part of the battle for working families.  We also need victories in the political arena.  That means electing worker-friendly candidates and providing them with the support they need to advance a progressive agenda on critical issues. These include issues such as workers’ rights, health care, social security, transportation, education, pensions and trade.  JC 32 DRIVE (Democrat-Republican-Independent-Voter-Education) is our political action committee. JC 32 active and retired members support DRIVE through their contributions.
