On to the elections in November!

I want to thank the good residents of Maplewood for their support in the Primary Election! I am deeply humbled and grateful that you believe in me and my ability to help create a city that will make us proud. Despite the negative attacks from some of my opponents, residents saw my commitment to changing what is so wrong with the politics of our city. We have issues that need attention and I will remain focused on developing real solutions. I will continue to speak directly to residents for guidance. I remain open to ideas and welcome your input.  Thank you again!

“People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote – a very different thing.” –  Walter H. Judd

3. What do you believe is Maplewood’s biggest challenge right now?

“Too much focus and attention is given to loud extremists, while many residents silently struggle for a truly representative city council that listens to its residents. The mayor willingly allows disruptions to the business of running our city for political gain. Maplewood needs a functional city council that works for its citizens rather than for select individuals. I will work with the new mayor to allow for resident input that is both relevant to and respectful of city employees or council members.”

Enough is Enough

City News and Headlines No Comments »

There are candidates in this election who seek to improve the community we live in.  I am committed to being honest, respectful and to engage in meaningful conversation that focuses on solutions that benefit our city. There are others who spend a majority of their time sending out attack emails, making outlandish accusations and suing the city for personal reasons.  In doing so they continue to alienate residents and continue the cycle of portraying Maplewood in a negative light.

The number one theme I hear from residents when I knock on doors during this campaign is…”enough is enough”!  It is time to change the conversation.  Let us focus on what is good and right about Maplewood and stop letting the few who are set out to destroy our community dominate the news.  This article in the Review News is an example of what needs to change.  CLICK HERE

Meanwhile…nothing gets done

I am running for Maplewood City Council to put residents first.  This is what I said in January and this is what I say at the doors today when I ask for votes.  At the most recent city council meetings, the actions of the Mayor clearly demonstrate her “me first” attitude.  The division at city hall must end so our leaders can focus on the real and critical issues facing our city!
